Today as I was driving to the location for the group lesson as a Nutrition and Integrative Health Educator... I was thinking about what I would be thankful for today.. and what popped in my mind is the one thing my mom would always tell me to be thankful for- the helpers because those are the ones you look for in a time of need...
So I am going to be thankful for those out there who are working in high-risk situations. The nurses, the doctors, the dental technicians, the 911 emergency personnel (dispatchers are included in this), the military and others in positions of high risk of exposure right now. I can’t begin to imagine their personal stress and worry and the ramifications their situation has for themselves and their families, whether in terms of potential exposure or choice to isolate from them for those reasons.
Furthermore, I am grateful for those who were and still are out there in the thick of it providing necessary services in our food service industry, grocery stores, gas stations, pharmacies, and other places that are essential to sustaining human life. I am grateful for those in positions that support those services — their maintenance and cleaning personnel, tech support, delivery personnel and truck drivers, and everyone who works in manufacturing and shipping to make and deliver what we all need.
This list goes on and on-- teachers, peaceful protestors standing up for what they believe in and exercising their constitutional rights (whether we agree or not), school administrators— I’m certain I’ve forgotten far too many and could possibly list numerous more.... But I’m sure you all get the picture.....
